1. British Native Pony Show in Northern Germany
On may 3. and 4. the Reitsportzentrum Hemmoor, home of the Conkertree Fell pony stud , located in the north of lower saxony in Germany, hosted a british native pony show.
Although they are still relatively rare in Germany all native breeds except for the Dales- and Exmoor pony were being shown.
Most contestants were from Germany of course, but we also had entries from Denmark and Poland.
Judge Peter Boustead came over from the UK to judge the classes according to british rules.
Saturday, under a marvelous blue sky, startet with the inhand classes. The Shetland ponys who had the highest number of enties were judged sepetately, the others were in gender- and agespecific classes.
The day ended with a barbeque in the heated tent, live music and a lot of interesting and inspiring conversations.
On sunday the ridden and driven classes were being held. Between others we had showhunter, fancy dress and family pony competitions.
At the end of the day the champion and reserve champion were announced. They proundly received their prices from the mayor.
Both the contestants and judge Peter Boustead praised the good organisation and the friendly and relaxed atmosphere of the show.
